Carol Motley, Executive Director, Pittsylvania County Economic Development
Over the years I have worked with several web sites developers in attempts to have a site that was user friendly and at the same time was specific to our profession and our clients. Buentec was the first and only one who understood what I wanted and created the site I had been seeking for years.
the one additional component that is required by nSight 2006 is an ODBC connection to your SQL database. This is how to set one up:
ODBC Setup
You need to access the ODBC administration window on your PC. This can be done in a couple of different ways. You login to your PC using an account with administrative rights to the local computer. Once you have done this, you get to the ODBC administration window via either:
Choose the 'System DSN' Tab.
Click the Add Button
Scroll down and choose 'SQL Server'
Tick the boxes for 'Windows NT Authentication" and "Connect to SQL Server..." as shown left. Click 'next'
Click 'next'
Click 'next'
Click 'Text Data Source'
You should get a successfull message like this one. Click 'OK' to close the window, and then click OK or 'Finish' on any windows that remain open.
Your ODBC Connection is now configured.
Getting the Application Running
Next you need to get the application file from the Server. On your N drive (if you had nSight 2003 configured on your machine) you will find a folder called 'nSight 2006'. Inside this folder there is a zip file called 'nSight 2006.zip'. Drag the file to your desktop, right click on it and choose 'Extract All'. Remember where you extracted the file to - navigate there - double click on the application to launch it.
Supporting Files
The application requires the 'Mousehook.dll' file in certain parts. You can either place the file in your System Folder 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\', or in the same folder as the application itself. You may not need to do this if you had already put this file in your system folder when setting-up nSight 2003.
